This holiday season uShip employees did some serious driving of their own in the form of a toy drive.
Every year, Austin Police Operation Blue Santa helps families in need by collecting kids toys and donations from Austin residents, businesses and civic groups.
As an Austin-based company, uShip loves the community in which we live, work and play, and we are always looking for a way to give back.
uShip employees set out to help make this holiday season extra special for Austin area families in need. For two weeks, uShip employees participated in fundraising and toy donations for Operation Blue Santa.
uShip employees raised almost $2,000 for the cause, then uShip matched their donations for a grand total just under $4,000.
A Christmas tree was put up in the uShip office as the collection site. After only two weeks, uShip employees piled hundreds of toys under the tree. Overall, we were able to donate over 300 kids toys for the Austin Police Operation Blue Santa.
We are happy to say we slung 16 large bags of toys over our shoulders to load Blue Santa’s sleigh. We’re certain those toys will be a part of a very special holiday.
