I was trying to ship a heavy, large piece of exercise equipment which was quoted at almost $500. When I posted it on Uship, I received quite a few bids between $300-350. I also founf the shippers much more accomodating and friendly than the big companies. Instead of a can't do unless we charge you more, I found their can-do attitude refreshing.
