Health,safety and comfort first. I understand the worry that goes with sending your beloved animals or cherished belongings with a "stranger". Having moved a couple of times in my 52 years, I sympathize. I care for yours as I do my own. I have a 2007 Ford dually and a full 8' wide x 40 trailer 7'6'' tall with rubber padding on floor and walls. I also have a 32' full 8' wide flatbed with dovetail ramps,tarps,chains, or soft straps. In the horse trailer Tempurature and ventilation are easily adjusted. I schedule 3 to 4 horses per trip so they have room to move or lay down. Water and hay are available to them at all times. I stop every 3 hours to observe, making sure they feel ok. I sleep 4 hours out of 24 That allows my passengers to sleep also. I plan a trip out and back no around about routes 6 times longer than it should be for your horse to get "home".
