It is highly recomended to have the cast iron table removed before shipping, which is very easy to do, the trunions underneath have a locking lever/bolt on them. Remove those two and remove the blade and the table will come right off. That'll take about 50lbs or more from the higher points so it'll be easier to move. Removing the blade and the table should take no more than 3-5 minutes. This will also protect the trunions in case you are going to lay the saw down to transport it. Never lay a bandsaw down where the table will be bearing weight.
Is this something you will do when transporting the saw or do I need to make an appointment with the auction house/school district and drive down there (3+ hours away) to do that beforehand myself?
