CDL A&B with air brake and tanker. I have done driveaway work since May 2001 with over 440 successful trips to date, Nov 2005. Clean MVR, non-smoker, close attention to planning, routing, weather, scheduling of delivery, customer contact on both ends of each transaction and condition of the vehicle. Former NWS meteorologist. Moderator of a Yahoo group devoted to Driveaway work. In my contract driveaway work I drive a wide variety of vehicles from passenger cars and vans to 80K GVWR OTR tractors - including box trucks, beverage trucks, flatbeds, overhead cranes, speciality vehicles of many types and sizes. I drive all common transmissions, 8, 10, 13, 15, 18 speed manual including auto shift. I maintain frequent contact with the shipper - informing them of pickup plans, my own transportation and am flexible and adept at doping out the cheapest travel to/from jobs. I have driven in 45 of the 48 states in my time doing drieaway and average about 50,000 miles a year.
