I purchased an antique truck on e-bay and needed it transported from Kentucky to Alberta. Clicked on icon for a shipping estimate and within 5 minutes had uploaded the required information onto the UShip site and started receiving bids shortly thereafter. Complications in getting the accurate truck dimensions from the seller caused me to discard the first round of bids. By the time I got may act together, relisted and uploaded the real dimensions there was little time for rebidding. One of the low bidders came back in very high but because I wanted the truck yesterday, I accepted. Probably lost $1100 by doing this. Lesson learned the hard way.
I must admit that I was a bit uncomfortable using the site, fearful of online shysters or fake companies, but after this baptismal experience I would use it again. I would be more cautious in trying to weed out the brokers, who as middle men will take a fair share of the fee. I had a successful experience using UShip and would do so again.
