Wow, I was stuck trying to find a way to ship tires (on Rim) and 10 boxes across Canada. Checked with Puralator, Canada Post, LArge moving companies but the price was just CRAZY. Then I came across UShip via Google search. My first taught was, yeah sure, what a great way to volunteering to have all my stuff stolen, but, for the hell of it, I decided to give it a try, but I did have very low expectations.
I received a few bids that where very reasonable and within my budget for 10 Boxes, this is when I fought, well those 4 freaking truck winter tires weight a ton and I should possibly include these. Well I did, Uship automatically rejected all offers received and asked bidders to rebid again. This is when I taught, uh oh, I screwed up and will never hear from these shippers again. But no, minutes later bids (a little higher as expected) started to come in again. Some bids where just crazy high while others where very close to each other and seemed very reasonable.
For the hell of it, I accepted the lowest bidder as most people would just to see what would happen next, I was asked for a deposit which included a small service charge for the uship service, at this point I almost deleted everything and run away with my tail between my legs. But, the site was secured for payment, I read reviews and I again thought, "be brave and take a chance". So I DID..
Scheduling with the shipper started, back and forth emails to work around 2 long weekends and an additional weekend where the receiving end (my son) was away from home.
Items where picked up (very professional service) and I said buy buy to my personal items, call me crazy, but I was still worried.
Well guess what, 4 days later as promised by the shipper, all my items and tires are sitting in my sons garage across Canada, I paid my invoice via Shipper credit Card online form and voila, I can relax now..
WOW, what a great service, saved me a bundle of cash and something you can trust on the internet.
