I had some items in Montreal that I needed to have shipped to Toronto. I just bought an SUV and was prepared to drive there, rent a trailer and load it myself, then schlep it all back. Just for kicks I thought I'd see if I can get it done cheaper through a shipper. I calculated that it would cost me $500 for the roundtrip gas and renting the trailer. I put that as my cap, and found more than one person willing to do it. I didn't really save any money, but I did save 2 days on the road and moving it. My service provider was great. He picked up the key to the storage locker in Toronto and picked up all my furniture. He even went so far as to grab a desk (and would have grabbed an upright piano if it were accessible) from my sister's house at no additional charge. Since he couldn't take the piano (for a few reasons, none of which where his fault) he offered to grab it on another trip out there, free of charge. He was great to deal with and took good care of my items. Thanks Frank!
