"uShip is a great! Al Woodward has excellent services!"
shipping from Newmarket, Ontario, Canada Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada for $715.43
I tried a few other shipping companies and it all seemed quite awkward and ambiguous. Everyone quoted me costs to ship to a location yard and didn't have door to door service or took ages to bet back to me or had terrible websites with music playing when you browsed to their site (who does that?).
Then my girlfriend Alexa sent me a link to this site called uShip and that's when things changed. Everyone at work said oh ya uShip.. that's the Shipping Wars site. I don't watch TV so I had no idea what this show was but man it's good to know. uShip should advertise with Google because I did loads of searches and didn't get any hits on uShip??? Just sayin......
Anyway I then posted my R1150GS on uShip and it auto looked up my bikes specs (weight type etc) I put in my pickup and drop off locations and waited.
It wasn't long before a few questions came in with a few quotes. A few of them were quite off the mark at 5000+ dollars to ship my bike from Toronto to Vancouver Island. I'm sure there are folks who want it done quick who might just pay that much but for me that was about 4500 dollars to expansive. I could rent a uHaul and drive it out myself for that price. Or I could have sold my bike and bought at new one for cheeper.. haha!
A few quotes started to trickel in around the 600 dollar mark to mainland Vancouver and about 1200 to Vancouver Island.
In the end I settled on Al Woodward. He was new and didn't even have a rating on the uShip site. So I was going by a gut feeling. Man was my gut right... He showed up in the most awesome truck all decked out specifically for motorcycles. I couldn't couldn't have asked for a better driver or a better experience. Thanks Al and thanks uShip for letting me fine a guy like Al!
Took my first ride in January 15th in the middle of winter on the Island. That was a first, riding in the winter! Roads were a bit wet so I had to go carefully but it was still fun!
Peace and prosperity,
