I was a first time user of the uShip service having sold a large and heavy item on Ebay which couldn't be collected in person by the buyer. They wanted it delivered by courier and left me to organise this which I was happy to de in order to secure the sale. But where do you start?
Having obtained a quote from my local courier who wanted £250 to deliver from Cambridge to Gosport, and the usual multi-nationals (eg: DHL, TNT, FedEx etc) who quoted £340 upwards, I subsequently "discovered" uShip on the Ebay site. I found it easy to use despite my unfamiliarity in the service being offered. Three quotes quickly arrived after listing my requirements; £90, £75 & £70 respectively. The £70 quote was accepted as the consignee didn't want to spent more. The booking process was straightforward and the service provider was found to be very flexible in order to secure the work.
All in all, a very straightforward process which saved a fortune. If a similar need arises in the future, I shall use uShip again by default.
