I recently moved, and needed to have my small pickup shipped out to my new house. The cost estimator in uShip put the job at $897 average, plus it stated that winter shipping is usually more reasonable. Unfortunately the bids were all $1200 plus, which was far more than I budgeted. Some of the bidders would make the same high bid nearly daily. Some other bidders came in around $1050, but wanted full payment up front otherwise it would cost another $200. So they would have my truck and my money. What's the motivation to actually make the delivery? Luckily I wasn't in a hurry, and eventually got a bid from Mike of mainmike movers right at $900. He was great to work with, good attitude, great communication, and took good care of my little truck. So with a little patience and perseverence, it all worked out in the end.
