After spying a new treasure on Ebay,i found out about UShip as an option to transport treasures to greener pastures,so the story begins;
Listed the 1978 Inter Scout 4x4 on uship so as to get a guide of the cost to transport from Brissy down south to Melb Vic,in the meantime was trying to get more accurate info on the scout from the owner as ebay details rather vague-,but after many phone calls did a deal, and got the guy to put it back on a buy it now ebay deal.
Trans co picked up Scout that end from guys home ,which was great as it ran ,but just ,so not drivable to depot etc,and all was going to plan for delivery to Melb thursday pm ,so i left for 300klm trip to melb in my other Inter Scout Terra with triaxle trailer in tow,( but rang trans co 1st an was told "truck got a slight hiccup in Tocumwal NSW"and got drivers ph no so no dramas) Let da adventure begin!
So truck ended up needing a new clutch ,so was all good --got a heap of other jobs done in the city an camped at the mates place o/nite .
Excitement was building for a 8pm Fri pickup on the nth side of Melb and peakhour traffic was thinning out as i'm heading on the Ring road about 10klms from pickup point an i pass a truck carrying a tough lookin SCOUT 4x4 ,so i go (wicked ,thats got da look,dats gotta be my new toy)
So after unloading an loading onto my trailer and doing the big checkout on da Scout ,headed off out of the city ,rain and stormy weather and some real big hills da next challenge.
So had a pretty steady trip ,but luck was running with me, as i just missed a really wicked storm that took out trees ,pwr lines ,cars etc on the highway.
Out on the flat country makin betta time till going through sleepy little village (Stawell)and who'd i wake up but "Miss Piggy an her mate"2.00am an they just wanna ask a million stupid Qs
So after giving me a ticket cause Vicrds mucked up trailer rego,way we go agin
Got bogged in da paddock at home as well,but can,t wait for next adventure,cheers.
