I suppose the first time should be taken as a learning experience however in that sense the transaction was only a minor loss.
I bought a lawn mower 800+ miles from home because the price was all right and shipping it U-ship appeared to be the most cost-effective way.
I saved a little using U-ship because I was in an Ebay frame of mind when placing the order and unfortunately placed "book it now" at the high end much like I might do with "buy it now" instead of leaving the instant book on the low end, thus paying about what I would have payed a trucking company, however the item did not have to be crated.
The provider may have gone overboard in trying to protect the mower from damage, unfortunately the foam packing rubbed paint down to the steel in transit, nothing some spray paint couldn't fix but it cost him a star in that department.
The other star was in the timeliness department, although I am aware that he simply didn't know about Washington DC rush hour traffic and he did call to tell me it would be later it nevertheless resulted in a 3 hour delay.
He was very pleasant to deal with and yes, now that I have learned a few things I will use Uship again.
