I am very happy how the Uship bidding system works. I had no problems obtaining bids and paying what I wanted to pay for the moving of the furniture. I thought I got a very good price for moving my queen size bed. Once I accepted a satisfactory bid, I was contacted by the service provider. They asked me to pick up the next day and I accepted. I requested that the pickup time was during the day and that they wrap the mattress and box spring in some plastic or cardboard to protect them from getting dirty or damaged. they agreed.
They gave me a pick up time of Noon the next day.
Noon came and went and I didn't hear from them. Around 1pm, I started calling the phone numbers I had. Some of the numbers had a greeting message that gave me other numbers. So I continued to call trying to get a live person. I also left messages on all the voicemail systems I got connected to.
One time, someone answered and told me they would call me back but never did. One time I got through to someone who told me the driver was stuck in a traffic jam on I95 and that's why he was delayed. He said he would call me back to give me a better estimate when he would arrive but he never did. I kept calling. I finally got an email saying that the driver had already reached his driving time limit that regulations allow so he had to stop and that the new pickup time was now 8pm. I accepted the new time. They did show up around 8pm to pick up my furniture and the guys were very polite and courteous.
Then, I didn't hear from them until they showed up at my front door (I was at the destination). They said they called me a few times but I only got one phone call from them on my cell phone. Apparently, I wasn't home when they called my home number so they just left a message. When I finally met them at the house, they proceeded to unload the bed and did a good job with that. However, the mattress and box spring were not covered in plastic or cardboard as I had asked so they were dirty.
