The oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico basically shut down the waters around my vacation home in Florida, meaning that I would not be enjoying my 26 foot twin engine catamaran boat during my scheduled summer vacation. I started brainstorming what to do during my upcoming vacation, and came up with bringing my boat up to my home in Wisconsin and exploring the great lakes. However, I dreaded the thought of a butt numbing twenty hours on the road in my marginally sized to vehicle. My 1500 series GMC tows the boat fine around town, but really works hard to tow it at highway speeds. While searching on eBay I stumbled across U-Ship , and though what the heck I would see what it would cost to get the boat brought up to me. It was fast, easy, and with the feedback system giving a sense of security I gave it a try, and it worked great. When you factor in the cost and wear and tear on my truck it became a No Brainer to let one of U-Ship’s haulers bring the boat to me. My shipper had the type of truck needed to handle a boat of this size on a cross county journey, and they took their time and cared enough to make sure everything was protected and secured (since I originally hadn’t planned on moving the boat I hadn’t left the boat any condition to trailer cross county) The transaction went so well, that not only will I be using U-Ship to take the boat back down south, but I think I will have them haul it down to the Keys for our annual Christmas trip rather than doing it myself.
