We own a Boston Whaler 305 Conquest and our family of 5 use it all over the state of Florida and Abaco Islands. I move the boat around a lot (to wherever the fish are biting) and up until now, have driven the boat myself from point A to point B. This particular move (from Cape Canaveral to Marathon), was a traditional run for me. But I was not looking forward to the 18 hours of windshield time, engine wear and tear, plus $1,200 in fuel costs. So I started looking into shipping as an alternative. Visiting other boat shipping websites (ones with calculators built in) estimates for this move ranged from $1,200 to $1,400. I stumbled on uSHIP next and liked the openness of the forum – particularly the consumer rating and feedback system. I said; "What the heck" and posted a BOOK NOW price of $800. Within 30 minutes Specialist Movers snapped it up! Jon Thomas and his team did an awesome job picking up and delivering my boat. They were right on time (at both ends) and both marinas commented how nice they were. Jon - when the dorados and bugs move off of Marathon later this summer, I'll call you back for the next move…..I think Momma and the kids would enjoy scalloping around Cedar Key.
