A friend of mine on a camping trip rescued a stay beautiful border collie who adopted them at the 9,000 high camp. He was starving and covered with burrs. She couldn't keep him and had to turn him over to a shelter which had a time limit as to how long he could stay. She wrote me in desperation knowing I had a soft spot for border collies since I had had one for 14 years who had recently died. She pleaded with me to take him. I called the shelter and the long and short of it was that I ended up adopting two border collies. Now how to get them from Utah to Portland Oregon. I went on the web, found USHIP and was very hesitant to use it. I decided to chance it because the logistics and cost of air transport were just too much. I put out a bid and the most wonderful person, Cindy accepted it. She ended up traveling 6 hours round trip to meet the dogs for just $50.00 more then her orginal bid. After starting this with so much trepidation I was completely satisfied and I mean completely with USHIP and Cindy. The communication was excellent, everything worked out perfectly and I would use them again.I ended up saving about $400. The provider even gave the dogs worm medicine, fed them Thanksgiving dinner and let them sleep in the motel on the way up. She kept up an excellent communication through phone and e-mail. I always knew what was going on and how the dogs were. She even helped me decide which dog I should keep and which I should give to my friend. She raised dogs and was in general an animal person as was her daughter. The USIp web site was easy to use . All in all I was really thrilled with my experience.
