I had previosly bought and antique sofa and chair on ebay and the person i bought it from made the shipping arrangement with people they use. I asked the [total]cost in advance to have the items , wrapped and prepared to ship. i also stated clearly that i needed these items delivered inside my home as i am disabled single woman and could not help carry anything. they gave me the price, which i paid in advance. after 2 months i finally got a call that my furniture is ready to be delivered and i would need someone to carry it in from the curb. I told them i had paid to have it delivered inside.. after much correspondance with the seller of this item [ i heard every thing from they have to charge for a lift gate.... inside deliverey is always at the curb and assumed that the customer will assist in unloading and carrying... the price is never final until it is delivered... due to all the confusion on the type of delivery it is going to be more, i will contact you with the adjusted shipping cost..etc] they brought it in a semi to my house and i had to find a neighbor to help him unload it and bring it inside. to ad insult to injury the seller of this item sent me several emails wanting more money... I told him i had already asked for the total cost and paid for this delivery in advance... It was a nightmare. So when i bought this antique sofa someone told me about UShip, I tried it got several bids the next morning. I ended up choosing Ken williams [ dandodrive ] and had smooth, painless transaction for 1/2 the money!! he was enroute in 24 hrs. He was very professional, polite and friendly, Very accomodating to my schedule , and stayed in touch thru out the move by phone. MY sofa arrived in perfect condition, and not only did he not expect me to help carry it in, He helped load up a few pieces of furniture i was selling while he was there!!
