I wanted to take my prize cello from our summer home in Bellingham WA to lower Florida keys. Pretty scarey to ship a large musical instrument. FedEx was recommend,($600.93)too late to buy an airline seat ticket,(cannot use baggage!!Airlines have been known to crush cellos, basses and harps.)
There are no string instrument repair places in the keys, so a safe ship was a must. Also wanted to have a second cello here because of the lack of repair.(just in case)
I was searching the internet for "shipping" and there it was, USHIP! Thought I'd give it a chance, not much hope because of the distance and pecular locations.
The very next dday there was a bid! We decided to go for it and boy are we glad we did. Dave was the best anyone could possibly ask for.He is a courteous, gentle careful person & driver. An auto drive is really the safest way to carry a large string instrument but we just don't make this drive anymore. Its a 3,700 mile trip!
Thanks again Dave, couldn't have had a better experience!!Dave took super great care, taking this big instrument into motels each night and keeping it in his back seat where it was in AC comfort.
Thanks USHIP for being there!!
Saved about $200.00 too!
I would surely check out USHIP again and recommend this easy to use web site to my musician(& other!) friends!
