Beware! There are dishonest shippers out there.
I had an offer to ship my newly purchased boat from FL to WA. The shipper would only do it if I paid up front. Thinking PayPal was safe I paid in full. (Note: PayPal will not cover/protect you for "services" purchased, only for "items" purchased.) After two weeks of waitng they finally appeared and picked up the boat and took it 100 miles to their home. They did so with the brake actuator engaged and fried the brakes and burned out one hub. (The trailer was a 2007 with less than 1000 miles on it and they blamed me for the problem!!!) They left the boat in their front yard for over two months promising to fix it and complete the contract. It the end they lost all other contracts and were too broke to continue. I had to contact an independant trailer shop to have the brakes/hub repaired and put the boat back out for a new shipper (wehaul08) who did an absolultely first class job. (Highly recommended!)
Meanwhile the first shipper has my money ($1500) and will not return calls, PayPal won`t help as stated earlier, uShip has cancelled their accountand is looking for them, MOT is also looking for them, the Sherrif can't help because it's "internet crime" so it is a "State issue", but the State won't help because the loss must be over $50,000 (!?)
So, be careful. If you use PayPal link your payment with your credit card so you can dispute the payment if there is a problem. If you link your payment with your bank account who will completely out of luck just like I was.
Happy (but careful) shipping!
