It occurs to me that having a snowmobile in Phoenix, AZ is quite an anomaly. That is however where I found what I had been looking for.
As anyone might suspect, bringing it all the way to Washington State was sure to be a challenge, along with more heartache than my poor wife thought she could endure. I have gone on some wild rides in the past, but this was to be more distance than normal. We had previously bought a new snowmobile trailer in Michigan, along with two snowmobiles to fill it, on a previous vacation, but Phoenix, AZ??? She was more than a little skeptical.
It seems the state of Arizona has some form of a search and rescue squad that periodically is called out to find lost hunters and such. As it turns out, the snowmobile has 528 miles accumulated since purchase in 1990.
Now, getting this sled clear across country was my next challenge. It was suggested I try by listing it on uShip. I had previously attempted to get a Harley Davidson shipped this way and ended up renting a horse trailer and going to get it myself, in Billings, Montana.
The sled arrived safely yesterday, in the same condition it was in all the pictures. Today I have it in the teardown state already making sure we can use it when the snow flies.
My wife, well, she is more than a little surprised and relieved that this adventure did not include her and I traveling, although a trip through San Diego was anticipated to see our daughter.
See you on the snow.
