My colt, "Dash", had to be weaned at three months. (problems with the mare) The poor guy was basically weaned "cold turkey". Then the little guy had to start his long trip from wisc. to florida.
Richie arranged his schedule around the people he was meeting to pick up the colt, so they could both get to work on time.
As soon as the colt was loaded, the breeders were on the phone to me letting me know that the colt was on his way, and they were impressed by Richie and his calm, easy manner with Dash.
I had a hard time coming up with the usual bid money on such short notice. ( The colt normally would not have been weaned until the end of november.) Richie worked with me and made it affordable, and I was able to save over $300 in shipping fees - all due to this man's generous spirit and willingness to help out.
He was professional and fun to talk to every time I called him to check on Dash. Richie knew how worried I was about Dash's mental state, especially at such a vulnerable age. He calmed my fears every time and had me laughing by the time we ended our conversations. He was also extremely prompt, and again displayed his calm, easygoing expertise with horses when he unloaded the colt for me. Dash had spent 2 days and nights on the road, but he got off the trailer clean, in good weight, bright eyed, curious and calm. I will use Richie from now on, and will recommend him to all my contacts who ship horses. This man is a one of a kind hauler who TRUELY cares. Thank you Richie, and God Bless you for bringing my miracle baby safely home.
