Had been looking for years (not 24/7, but, you know, looking) for the perfect display cabinet. Fell in love with a vintage cupboard on eBay. Problem: Cupboard's in PA, I'm in TX.
Since I'd never had anything larger than a weed-whacker shipped to me before, and didn't relish the idea of re-mortgaging my house just to buy a cupboard, it was destined to be a doomed, one-sided affair. But then [cue hero] the owner recommended uShip (and baby-stepped me through the process.)*
Even with a coach, I was intimidated, especially by the first few eye-popping bids. But the right numbers finally started coming in, and I had to choose (my life is sooo hard) between three attractive offers.
Shipper Steve (stevopa) was fair of price, friendly, stayed in touch, and brought the story to a happy ending. My cupboard and I are together, just we, ourshelves, and us. (sorry)
On a different and less purple note: I like the premise of uShip: Use shippers who otherwise might have made the same-ish trip (ergo using fuel) with partially-filled trucks. This makes much more sense. I approve.
Prefer to shop, not ship, but if I do need freight service, I'll definitely use uShip again.
