We bought a Pontoon boat with trailer on ebay. I expected to pick it up, however, I had unexpected health problems and decided to get it transported, started searching and getting prices OH BOY! My daughter told me about uship, I tried it finding out that I could save $1000 or more got my attention.
I had 4 bids within hours and more the following day. The profiles and associated ratings along with actual feedbacks were very important in my final decision, much more so, than price. I am so glad I opted for a transporter with lots of good feedback and a profile explaining his experience.
Seems that the majority of negative feedbacks for my trasnsporter were time/shedule related. That is a bad rapp! Anyone who has traveled any distance knows that there are many variables out of your control. Even if you set a reasonable window for arrival, if you made it good luck has followed you there.
In my case the trailer broke a leaf spring, shredded the tire, the lug nuts were painted and frozen, had to have a machine shop cut the lugs off and modify a leaf spring from a junk yard...I felt so bad for Randy & Donna. Up and running again only to hit hours of crawling traffic at the end of NJ turnpike to George Washington Bridge.
A word of advice to anyone traveling I95 to New England, in NJ get on I287 and take it via Tapanzee Bridge back to I95 in CT. It is a nicer drive(safer too), the road is better and you could save hour in crawling traffic.
All in all, Randy and Donna of RDDOGG Transportation did a great job.
