I was a little apprehensive about the whole uShip concept but there seemed to be a number of satisfied customers out there so I thought I would give it a shot. I had left my household goods in a storage unit in Parker, Co after taking a job in Washington D.C.. Life brought me back to my to Carlsbad, Ca. and I needed to get my household goods shipped to Carlsbad. I called a few commercial companies for quotes and recieved a range from $1950 to $2800.
Turning to uShip I posted my listing with a max price of $1950. I received two bids over the next few days. One shipper did not have any feedback while AcrossUSA had a couple positive ones and the lower bid so after a little back and forth communications on the details I accepted the bid.
I was flexible on the pickup date since a family member would handle it but the delivery date was fixed on Sept 23rd. After a few queries on when the pickup time would be, AcrossUSA responded with Sept 21st between 1000 - 1200. They called 45 minutes prior and arrived right in the window they specified. Loadup was smooth and orderly and I was informed they were very careful with the larger items to prevent damage during shipping.<br>
During transit, they contacted me with location updates and as they got closer defined the window for delivery. Infamous So Cal traffic slowed progress a little but they were quick to inform me of any delays and provide updated delivery window info. Once they arrived, they were very professional and expediant in unloading my goods.
All in all I was very impressed with their service and the value uShip provided. I would still be a little apprehensive opting for a shipper with limited history with uShip or one lacking positive feedback. However, if the need arises in the future I would not hesitate to turn to uShip for my shipping needs.
