This is our first time using uShip. We had a bunch of diverse items to ship, including fragile china, framed pictures, books, tools, furniture, mattress and a massage chair. These were all personal goods retrieved from our parents' basement, and we didn't have a big budget. Once everything was packed and measured, the uShip listing process was easy. Compared to a couple of moving company quotes, we probably saved between $300 to $500, and ended up paying $550. One thing we found out - it is best to have everything ready & final before listing your shipment, as every change we made effectively "declined" the bids we got, which was not our intention. So after a few changes, service providers may think you are not serious.
The good thing about uShip is the ability to communicate with potential providers before accepting any bid. This really helps to give some idea of how they operate and how communicative they are. Also, there is room for special instructions and comments for every item, so the providers can know beforehand exactly what is expected.
We ended up using kaztransport and were very pleased with the whole experience. He was flexible and willing to go out of his way if needed, without complaint or extra charge. He was also pleasant and polite at all times. This makes for a very comforting situation when you still have some "maybes" with the shipment after accepting the bid. Everything was done as we instructed (and more), and all items arrived in perfect condition. In fact, we accidentally included an item we didn't want, and he offered to take it back for us!
We would definitely use uShip again.
