I'm a single mom of four who has the good fortune of traveling up to my childhood home in upstate New York for lengthy summer vacations on Lake Chautauqua. My dad always took my kids fishing, sailing or on sunset-cruises. After he passed away, my mom had to sell off his "fleet". We spent last summer staring at the lake with no way to get out on the water. I vowed never to let this happen again, so I purchased a 14 ft.(trailer-less) sunfish and kayak (locally) off e-bay. My plan was to car-top these items from SC to NY. When the seller delivered the items, I realized it would not be a possibility. I discovered u-ship when researching trailering. I realized shipping was the way to go for me when I factored in the cost of placing a hitch on my mini-van, purchasing or renting a trailer, and the extra gas and wear and tear on my car (not to mention the stress and worry of all things that could go wrong on the 14 hour journey). Within hours of posting my items up for bid, I received several replies (mostly in the form of questions about my time-frame). All inquiries were extremely courteous. I was encouraged to discover a few local shippers who were able to bid fairly reasonably. I chose Peter Olmeda of maxumpower. He placed the low bid of $600. Within 24 hours, he picked up my shipment, and delivered them safely to NY. I was amazed at how smooth and quickly the transaction took place. Now we are anxious to head up there ourselves and hit the water. The best part is that all I have to do is pack the car and kids and enjoy the hassle-free two-day trip. I now join the thousands of satisfied u-ship customers (yes, I read their testimonials too!!) Thank you Peter for providing outstanding service! Thank you to u-ship for making it all happen!!
