I've wanted a Blue Water Mirage ever since I got to drive my Brother-in-law's several years ago,so after a winter freeze killed the engine in my Bayliner, I decided it was time to find a new boat. After searching the internet, I found a nearly new one with only 20hrs but the only challenge was it being 1200 miles away. I considered flying down to San Diego, renting a truck and driving it home myself for 2-3 days, but I just didnt have the time to get it done. In addition, it would have cost me $200 for airfare, $884 for the 10ft box van (smallest I could find that could tow a boat), $350 for gas and a couple hotel nights - so very likely $1500 and at least 3 days of my time. Then I remembered one of my employees purchased a boat and had it delivered from New York to Denver so I asked her how she did it. She told me about UShip and how easy it was to get her boat in only a couple days. In her case, she didnt pick the lowest bidder but got the boat delivered on a flat bed truck as they wanted to avoid a lot of miles on the boat trailer. The next challenge for me was making the purchase sight unseen as I just didnt have time to get down there, but the dealer was very helpful getting me all the information I needed to put the deal together. As soon as the purchase was confirmed I put my listing on UShip and chose the priority options. I began recieving bids that evening and into the next couple days. The Q&A forum made it easy to get questions taken care of and sort out my options. When my pick up date shifted, I was able to re-check with the providers and because it was now very close to the holiday weekend, some wanted to push into the following week. Charles was not only an excellent price but also willing to accomodate my schedule so he won my business. My boat showed up in great shape, on time and I saved at least $500. It was a true pleasure doing business with Moss Transport, and I'm happy to share my experience.
