I first listed my shipment on UShip (first timer) at the end of May. I accepted a bid from Intelligent Moving and set up the delivery window. I paid him in full to receive a discount, fortunately on AMEX. He did not pick up my shipment and then went out of business. TOOK MY MONEY! I have filed a dispute with AMEX. UShip did nothing but state that I should report the fraud. Have a paypal dispute with UShip. I tried some professional moving companies but they wanted over a thousand for just a few items so I reluctantly went back to UShip. I was ready to accept a bid from Stoli and Sons when it expired. It was $800. We communicated through email about my needs agreed for him to rebid. He rebid $1150. My only request was that he try to pick it up on one day but it wasn't imperative. I declined the bid. Immediately afterwards two companies started competively bidding against each other for my shipment and the $ amount was going down. I communicated with one of them (owned by Bernard Blake) and he seemed honest so I took a big chance and hired him. He was a very professional shipper. He was honest, punctual and a gentleman. I got very lucky. I was just fortunate that he was there to bid on my shipment. You really take your chance with UShip. UShip needs to more carefully screen their providers. This was a month long experience that I hope is over. UShip should pursue legal claims against David Merced and Intelligent Shipping. He took a lot of peoples money and their shipments that were enroute. No one from UShip even contacted me about this fraud, it was like they washed their hands and ran.
