My daughter was moving to NYC after college, and since we didn't live in NY, we needed to get her things to her new apartment. She started work before moving, so she stayed with family. In the meantime, after graduation, we stored all her things at another location. I first contacted national moving companies, but their prices were way too high. A friend told me about uship. I put my shipment online and received many, many bids. However, I wasn't 100% sure of my daughter's moving date but knew that when we needed to ship I would have a very short window. I then questioned Gene from easternstatetruck, and he made my life easier because he was able to accommodate exactly what I needed. My daughter also ended up buying some additional furniture from Ikea while at our family's house, and so Gene was able to pick that all up, add it to the first shipment and then bring it to my daughter's apartment all on the appointed day at the appointed time, since I also had contacted Ikea to have them come after Gene left to assemble the Ikea items. Obviously, I needed to have rely on receiving all of my daughter's stuff when Gene was he would deliver so that I wouldn't have any problem with the Ikea assembly. All went exactly as planned. My family members were all impressed with Gene's professionalism and courtesy. As a stressed-out mom managing a move long-distance, I would say that this experience was about as easy as possible.
