After purchasing a sailboat at Torresen Marine in Muskegon, Michigan, we contracted to have it shipped home to Columbus, Ohio; approximately 360 miles. When we did our personal inspection of the boat we had reservations about the roadworthiness of the trailer tires; a point that was confirmed when the boat was surveyed. We were making arrangements to have potential service providers stop at the local tire store on the way out of town, when it was brought to our attention that the internal workings of the wheels could be in just as bad of shape, if not worse, than the tires themselves. This led us to choose the flatbed trailering option (our boat on its own trailer, sitting on a third trailer). We ultimately chose Mike Flood of Mike Flood Enterprises. Our experience is detailed below:
Excellent job; honest, prompt, and courteous. Mike took the time to answer questions and explain the entire process from start to finish. The care he showed in securing and transporting our boat was absolutely first rate. He drove 6 hours in a rain storm, backed his Rig down a 2.5 acre long driveway, finagled the trailer around a tight bend, and set the boat down within feet of where we asked. This guy is truly second to none. I highly recommend him, and wouldn’t hesitate to use him again.
