Hi, my name is Brad and I have a problem--it's called collectibles . . . I'm also into outdoor cooking so when I ran across a well-cared for 1953 Cook'n'Kettle BBQ grill on craigslist last December, I just had to have it . . . to go with my other smaller Cook'n'Kettle and my four Hasty Bake grills (yes, see admission above).
The only "problem" was that it was in Los Angeles and I'm located in Oklahoma and I didn't have a clue how I was going to get it here--but did I let that stop me?! UPS was out of the question due to the high cost. It so happens that the brother of one of my co-workers lives a mere five miles from the man I bought it from, so he stored it for me while I attempted different avenues (without success I might add) to get it back here.
Then someone told me about uShip and well, as they say, the rest is history! Brett Kurth of Kurth Construction came in with a bid that I was able to live with and I was excited knowing that I would have it soon. Actually it turned out to be much sooner than I expected--Brett picked it up on Friday and was supposed to deliver it within four days. Imagine my surprise when I got a call on Sunday night informing me that he would be here first thing Monday morning! Everything went off without a hitch and it's now reassembled and resting comfortably with the rest of my cookers.
I've already told others about uShip and will certainly keep in mind when I find something else of this nature in a land far away--just don't tell my wife please!
