I was saddened when my Grandfather passed away a few days past Thanksgiving. Papa loved his motorcycles and his country, almost as much as he loved his family. Before he died, my father; his son, washed and waxed Papa's bike because he was't able to ride it for a while. This brought Papa a lot of joy, and sparked conversations about his love of riding for the Freedom Riders.
The Freedom Riders is a motorcycle club dedicated to honoring veterans who pass on, young and old. My Papa's prossesional was the most grand display of bikes, people, and flags I've ever witnessed. Being cremated, this allowed Papa one last ride to his final resting place.
I had the opportunity to get my Papa's motorcycle, which seemed almost impossible. He lived in Avondale, AZ and I live in Elkin, NC. I began searching websites and getting quotes to have my new bike shipped across the country. I was nearly defeated, for the prices ranged from $750 to $1200. I, like most people have a limited budget, so even a few hundred dollars difference may have well been millions.
Then I found uShip. I was hesitant at first, but became a lot more comfortable when I noticed the ebay, TRUSTe, BBB, and VeriSign secured logos as afilliates of the website. I spent 5-10 minutes creating my profile and within 2 hours I had several competing bids to ship my bike.
I selected a last minute bid fom a hauler who was leaving the area within seveal hours. Because he had room on his trailer, his bid came into my price range. For $475, he provided door-to-door service. Reading his profile and feedback greatly influenced my decision as well.
Now, I have my Papa's ride, which is an ordinary 1993 Honda Shadow VT1100C. It's not the flashiest, most expensive bike out there, but what it represents is priceless.
Thank you uShip and LooseGoose! uBoth exceeded my expectations! I have already recommended you to everyone I know.
