This was my first experience shipping a boat from down south to my home in Canada.
The U-ship web site made me feel like I was getting a fair deal, and I was exposed to a greater number of service providers.
The lowest price was not necessarily the best deal, as my cargo was precious, and I was able to gage the level of service that corrisponded to the price that was offered.
The feedback section of the U ship site was very valuable, and played a big part in my final decision.
Direct communication with my choosen vendor helped me close the deal, and confirmed my decision.
Mre/ Mark Rinker explained everything up front, and kept me informed of the schedule throughoout the process.
I crossed the border to meet Ron in Detroit at a predesignated location. The timing was perfect, as we arrived at the same time.
This gave me a chance to refuel my boat while on the trailer, at street prices. I saved several hundred dollars.
There was a slight unforseen delay crossing the border. And at no point did I feel Ron was unsettled by the delay.
Ron follow me to the marina, and assisted in the unloading of the boat.
Keep in mind, it was very cold (28 Degrees F), and getting dark. Did I mention it was 4 days before Christmas! Ron still had a big drive ahead of him, and a snow storm in the forcast for the next day. He still did not appear to be in a rush to cut corners and risk the precious cargo.
Thank you MRE Boat Transport/Mark & Ron for a great experience.
Now if only they could ship me some warm weather!!!
