In the middle of 2008, with gas prices soaring, I decided to move from Billings, MT. and head back to the west coast. I've had RVs before, but no way would that work with the price of gas! I found a 25'lightweight travel tailer for a great price, and decided to go for it.
When I took my Nissan Pathfinder to get the hitch put on, the guy informed me that I couldn't pull it with my car. It wasn't too heavy, it was too long.....So there I was, I'd have to buy a truck....and things were getting really complicated. After a couple of months of thinking about it, I remembered that people ship cars all the time, maybe I could find someone online.
That's where it starts getting good. I saw a couple of shipping companys, and found uShip, which got my attention. I figured I had nothing to lose by posting a shipment, and waited for results. After a few days I heard from Rob, he told me he could haul it, if he could get something coming this way. His feedback was great, and the price was good, so I hung in. In this midst of all this, I realized that I could use more time, and save money on the RV park, if it didn't leave right away. So Rob searched for shipments, and I kept packing, until I got the call a few weks later. He managed to get a boat, some bikes and a dog! Rob is one of those people who will go the extra mile, a rare thing these days. uShip is fantastic, but made all the more so, by people like Rob. I saved big money not buying a truck, and didn't have to learn how to pull a trailer! I'm leaving that to the experts from now on.
