We wanted to buy a particular camper box from the local dealership in September, but the local dealer didn't have any in stock and couldn't be bothered to get more until Spring. So we contacted and bought direct from the manufacturer (Indiana, we're in Texas) for much less than we would've paid locally. The manufacturer offered to help find us a spot on one of the freight truck services they regularly use, but none were heading in the right direction for weeks and weeks. So I decided to try uShip for the first time.
I was very pleased with the professionalism of the shipper I chose via uShip. I verified his information with DOT and his insurer -- his feedback was consistently very positive. He was responsive via the phone and did a good job of coordinating pickup of our camper box (especially when he had to delay pickup by a few days, he just coordinated with the manufacturer in Indiana.) He took good care of the camper box en route. A wrinkle developed in the schedule where he felt the need to take care of a regular customer's rush shipment, thus pushing back our delivery by 3 days, but he finally did get it to us.
Ultimately, I feel very pleased with the experience of using uShip -- it got us our camper box now rather than having to wait for months, by buying direct the cost of shipping still put us ahead of what it would've cost to purchase from the local dealer, and uShip helped us find a reputable shipper. As an individual, I don't need to ship things freight very often, but next time I'll start looking at options with uShip.
