Due to budgetary constraints when I recently changed jobs and moved from NH to TX, I was under very tight financial constraints to find a good, low cost way to move both cars and household goods.
I am generally cynical about such things and try to be very careful of not getting 'ripped off.' USHIP.COM was brand new to me, I'm not at all knowledgeable about this, and I found the website as I searched for a low cost way to ship household goods and vehicles. So I placed the items on USHIP to await offers.
I received only one good bid from Rising Start Trans. to take a vehicle and household goods. I was initially skeptical, but after reading all the positive feedback, I thought it might be worth a chance. I even told my wife that if their service was actually as good as the feedback, that I would definitely write up a very positive response.
It was somewhat last minute, and I had a tight timetable to move. He brought the 53 ft trailer and truck to my home, left it overnight until we finished loading. He worked alongside us in the work (above and beyond). It only took about 2-3 days (I believe) for them to bring the truck straight through to our new home in TX (compared with much longer, more expensive with all other potential shippers).
He worked with us unloading cars and household goods. My wife and I were both very impressed with his personal care and attention to every detail. Not to mention that his prices were very competitive.
I don't know if it's appropriate to put all the actual dollar amounts, but the household goods shipment plus one vehicle was less than it would have cost for the household goods alone using one of the major brand self-shipping companies. Cost for shipping the vehicles worked out to about 50% cheaper than most other quotes.
What we were most delighted with was how quickly everything arrived. We flew down and they drived, and arrived near the same time as we did.
We would certainly use uship again.
