My boyfriend and I are teachers who were living in Cape Coral, FL. Our lease was up and we were coming home to Ohio for the summer. Insead of paying rent for 3 months while we wouldn't be there, we packed up everything we own, stuffed it (very haphazardly) into a storage unit, and hit the road for Ohio, thinking we would just deal with it when we returned. Well, plans changed and we ended up staying in Ohio. This left us with the problem that all that we owned was still left back in Florida. We priced several different options, including professional moving companies and the scenario of flying back, renting a truck, and moving everything ourselves. I posted the shipment on uShip and bids started VERY high. In the end, I went with "brentcity". He was not the lowest bid (although he was certainly one of the lowest and a great price), but had a good reputation on here. I was VERY hesitant to have someone I didn't know pick up my things from a storage unit without anyone being there to supervise. Not to mention the fact that the entire unit was basically "booby-trapped" the way that my boyfriend and I packed it! As an example, we had placed a bedframe balancing on top of a large pile of other stuff and left a sheet of glass laying on top of it towards the back of the storage unit where no one could really see it...just NOT good packing if you expect someone else not to break everything! I basically had decided that if at least 3/4 of my stuff got here in one peice, I should be happy because I'm not sure I could have unloaded that awful storage unit without breaking several items. Richard did a WONDERFUL job! When our things arrived in Ohio, EVERYTHING was wrapped with pads. Richard had made an inventory of everything he loaded, and I checked off everything as he put it into rooms. Everything was tagged and organized and made it to me without a single scratch. I would ABSOLUTELY use Richard to move ANYTHING in the future if he was available. I was extremely impressed!
