My daughter is nine years old and lost her beloved Arabian mare to a tragic accident where she was kicked by another horse. She took care of her mare (with our help) around the clock for almost 8 weeks before laminitis took her good leg and we had to have her put down. Since then my daughter hadn't been the same, and rarely smiled.
We were planning on getting a senior stallion from a friend in Florida, and it so happened she had an older mare that needed a little girls love. We made arrangements with Kelli through uShip to have both horses brough to us in Georgia, about 375 miles. Not only did Kelli give us a great price, but she also was more than willing to play along with our surprise. My daughter knew that the stallion was coming, so when the trailer pulled up she was waiting beside me to see our new boy. After he was tucked safely in his stall Kelli said there was something else on the trailer she needed to get and that she didn't know who it belonged to. She got the new mare off of the trailer, and I leaned over and told my daughter she belonged to her. She almost cried, and was so surprised. It was a very sweet moment, and Kelli really went the extra mile to make sure everything went better than we dreamed it could. This stallion was 27 years old, and stepped off the trailer looking like he hadn't even gone around the block, let alone across the state line. We will be forever grateful to Kelli and her family for making this such a great experience for everyone- my daughter, me and the horses! :)
