My husband has spent years telling me about his did's old leather chair, otherwise known as "The Throne." He would tell me that this well-worn (OK, worn out) chair would someday be his.
So, you can only imagine his dismay when his sister called him and told him that their dad had given it to her! (I later found out "The Throne" was slated for "The Dumpster" until she saved it.) My husband has spent the past two years complaining about the fact that his sister had stolen away his birthright.
Now my husband and I are about to celebrate our third anniversary (for which the traditional gift is leather). So I begged, and I pleaded, and I cajoled my sister-in-law in to relenquishing "The Throne." Then I realized that I only had two weeks to get "The Throne" from Houston to Dallas (and I drive a tiny car, so picking it up wasn't an option.)
I spent hours looking into shipping, truck rental, etc. until I found out about UShip. It was so easy. I entered my information, and received bids from several providers. I contacted the provider and a few days later "The Throne" was delivered to my doorstep. I can't wait to see the look on my husband's face when he sees "The Throne" in our living room!
