I bought a car in California thinking the shipping would be a piece of cake.
Found a broker online with a good reputation, had a quote for a very good price, sent the money for the car and when I tried to confirm the transport oh! their computer made a mistake and tought the destination (Champlain NY) was not that north! (yeah like computers can't calculate distance with zip codes...) and the price was now 3 times the quote.
So I tried to find another one, same story, another could do it for the quoted price, but after 3 weeks the car was still at the sellers place.
Then I found this website and Kurt from Summit transport.
The car was supposed to be picked up on Friday, but it was actually on Sunday. I have to say I was very scared that the same "I'll pick it up tommorow" was starting again. But no, it was really an out of his control problem.
The car was delivered to Champlain on Wednesday , 9 days after it left California. It might seems a little long, but that's half the time I was quoted from the other transporter and there was also a 3 days weekend in there, Otherwise it would probably have made it on Monday, just a week after it was picked up.
The only thing that I think could be improved on Kurt's part would be a better way of reaching I'm because somethime the cell coverage was so poor I could not reach him and he was not able to answer his email. Like the Friday when my car was to be picked up.
But that this a very minor problem and I am overall more than happy about the service that was provided.
If I need to have another vehicle transported I will for sure give the contract to Kurt and Summit Transport! They from now on are my prefered tranporter.
