My sons grew up sleeping on three twin beds, a bunk bed and trundle set of a cabinet maker in Illinois made of local oak. When the three boys got out of college and needed beds, I split the set among them, but in the past few years all three have moved in with soul mates and put the single beds into storage. June 1st they moved to new apartments in Chicago and had no room to store the beds. We live in New Hampshire, and so thought about selling the set, but I couldn't part with it. When I asked the big moving companies what it would cost to ship them here, the prices started at more than $900 -- more than I could afford (or justify). But an internet search turned up uShip, and I gave it a try. Within a couple of days I had two bids, and the lowest and quickest was 1/3 the price the big companies charge. We accepted the bid on Saturday, my sons packed up the three beds and oak bedsteads on Sunday, the provider picked them up on Monday, and they arrived on Wednesday in great shape. The mover was smart, pleasant, and interesting to talk to, and really helpful, bringing the items to the right spot. I've never had such a simple and economical experience in many moves around the country. Thanks!
