We here at WindFlow Sports found UShip in our search for a better way to ship. We were happy to find a company that is leveraging the power of the Internet to redefine how shipping works. We are the US distributor for the Peter Lynn KiteCat and are asked to ship these very unique boats all over the country. Having had multiple atrocious experiences shipping KiteCats through commonly known shipping providers we decided to try something new. For those who have done LTL shipping in the past you may have experienced the headaches of freight codes, salespeople, accounts and the “discounts”. Our experiences proved to us that with so many people involved in getting your shipment from origin to the destination that there will be careless handling along the way. Additionally, our experience shows that if there is damage along the way, good luck on getting any compensation for the damage. First off, we were surprised at how easy it was to use compared to working with the normal freight companies. Our service provider for this shipment, Whitey, was able to give us a workable bid since he was already taking another shipment and our destination was along his route. He had the room for our crate and was happy to have the extra shipment to maximize the value of his route. Being a small business ourselves, we were happy to work with another small business instead of a large freight provider. It is very reassuring to know that the guy responsible for getting your shipment through is also the guy that owns the company and more importantly is counting on getting that positive UShip feedback to help build his business. We will definitely be using UShip again for our shipping needs. If it works out, we would also give our business to Whitey again. Additionally, we are also considering becoming a UShip service provider ourselves to offset our fuel costs for roadtrips we enjoy taking for work and pleasure. --Jake WindFlowSports.com
