This was our first experience with uShip. The website is very well designed, fairly intuitive, and with lots of help available. We had our move posted, along with pictures of our furniture, within an hour of logging on.
We received two bids within 12 hours. Feedback on the bidders was more important to us than the bid amounts. We chose the bidder with the higher price but who had more positive feedback.
Once matched, arranging the pick-up and drop-off locations/dates/times was a snap. Henry at All American Moving & Shipping, Inc. was responsive via cell and email.
The crew was two young guys who arrived an hour late for the loading. They were supposed to let us know they were delayed, but didn't. Henry apologized and supplied them with a "corrective moment", and everything went smoothly after that. They had all of our things very well packed into the truck in 2 hours, and gave us their cell number so we could contact them if necessary in transit. They even had us walk through the house with them to be sure nothing was left behind.
The weather and traffic between Florida and Philadelphia couldn't have been worse. Heavy rains from Georgia all the way north, and severe construction-related traffic jams near Baltimore and Wilmington, DE had to be navigated. But, they arrived on-time, called us to let us know they were at the drop-off point, and were patient and polite while we went through the rental process for the storage unit. We asked the guys to load our things into the unit in such a way so we could have access to our boxes as needed, and they were great about doing this. These two guys really know how to make efficient use of space, and they got everything into the unit with room to spare. We brought donuts and coffee, but they didn't take a break until everything was loaded into storage.
