Our family decided that we had outgrown our old boat and it was time to go bigger. Our three daughters, now teenagers, need a lot more room for all of their belongings and Dad needs a bit more space away from them!
Long story short, we found a great deal on eBay and in no time were flying down to Florida from Toronto in January to inspect and do the final dealing on our new boat. We stored the boat down South until the weather broke up here and had it trucked up. This is where uShip came in. We posted our boat on the website and in no time had several bids to start picking from. The benefit of being able to post your 'target' price sure helps, because it allows shippers to see that you may also have an idea of approximately what it should cost to ship your boat. After numerous bids and questions back and forth, we accepted a bid from Hobo's Hauling and started to put our plans into action.
Tom Purdy from Hobo's is the kind of guy that puts you at ease the moment you start talking to him. He's experienced and that shows right away when you start talking, as he knows the right questions to ask and has enough loads under his belt to know what contingencies need to be built into the plan so that everyone comes out happy. Our load was not without hiccups, the loading yard was delayed, our paperwork needed to be re-examined at the border resulting in a 3-hour delay and this put Tom under the gun...but he pulled through like a champ!!
I completely recommend his services and would use him again in a heartbeat. All the best and thanks again, Tom, Hobo's Hauling Rocks!!
