My friend needed a daybed and some misc. items shipped from his home in Chicago to his home in Palm Springs, California. I offered to help him get some bids, and found it very difficult to handle through a traditional moving company. Even though the shipment was not that big, we would still have to pay for the minimum 1000lbs. They also were not very flexible on the dates because it was such a small shipment for them. I tried listing on Uship in January to coincide with my friend's trip out West, but I didn't get any bids I was comfortable with that could deliver in our time frame. I tried again in March, and instantly got some questions from Sducky and a few others. Sducky had great feedback and quite a shipping record so I felt more at ease working with him. His bid was reasonable and he could work well with our timing. We accepted the bid, and Seth(sducky)and I talked on the phone to work out the rest of the details. He arranged to pick up the items on a Thursday, he even tried to pick-up early but ran out of time and room on his truck. Seth was extremely professional and courteous when he arrived, and packed all of the items in his truck very carefully. He promised to deliver the following week on Thursday, and actually was available to deliver late Wednesday if we had wanted to do so. He worked around our schedule and even delivered at 6:00am to accommodate a conflict we had with our schedule. He unpacked everything and my friend was very happy. Overall I was extremely pleased with his communication and the entire experience. I admit as a first time user I was a bit nervous about trying someone I didn't know off of the internet. However, I felt comfortable with your Uship process and felt that I could trust the shipper based on his track record that I could review myself. I felt I actually knew more about Seth than I would have known about a traditional shipper, where I wouldn't have access to anyone's feedback. I wouldn't hesitate to use Seth or Uship again.
