"San Diego to Omaha"
shipping from Chula Vista, California Omaha, Nebraska for $1,800.00
I had been working on selling a Corsair trimaran to an exec at Xerox for over a year. He was ready to buy from the start but his company kept sending him around the world and his finance had her requirements as well. Why can't my customer's just have wives like mine who wants nothing to do with sailing? Finally I found the perfect boat which was in San Diego. The owner was about to leave the country to work overseas so the deal was good but it was going to have to be picked up promptly from a third party. I went on Uship.com and had bids within 5 minutes and within 1/2 hour had a deal with Ron Heaton. I then told Ron that this week was also my family vacation so I was off to Mexico. Gave him a 4th party to contact where the boat was being delivered and the buyer's phone as well so at this point he had 5 parties to deal with. Ron kept them all straight and when I got back from vacation the boat was safely delivered. I called him to say thanks and he had just dropped off an other boat in Colorado and was about to take a boat from Denver to Washington state. This was the first time I used Uship and I would say it will always be the first place I will look for competitive freight rates. What is great is it allows drivers to haul loads in all directions. This keeps the freight prices lower, decreases emissions into the environment and our dependence on foreign oil.
