After retiring from the Navy I used my final move to relocate from NS to BC. We did not want to leave our 38' Hughes sailboat behind, but found regional shippers both too expensive and unable to accomodate our tight schedule. Referred to uShip by a friend, I found the site very easy to use and quickly received an excellent offer. Our shipper was House of Boats from Texas. We have shipped in the past but never had such a great experience. John, in Texas, kept me continually up to date on the progress of the shipment. Friends in NS who loaded the boat for me described the driver, Troy, as a great guy. He spent a lot of time ensuring that the boat was perfectly supported and secured on the trailer. He told my friends that he was also a boat owner and treats every boat as good as he'd want his treated... Wow. The boat arrived in BC on schedule, at the exact time that I'd arranged friends to help with the offloading. Troy turned out to be as nice as described and did the offload with experienced professionalism. He could have written a book about his winter crossing of Canada, including sub-zero temperatures, many snow storms, strong headwinds, and crossing the Rockies during avalanche control. I hope he gets a few Miami shipments to warm up after this adventure. The boat was in excellent condition, unscathed after over 6,000 kms on Canadian roads. Even a pair of glasses I'd left on the chart table were still there. With their air-ride suspension the boat didn't feel a bump. My hat's off to House of Boats and uShip for their excellent service. I will not only use you again, I'll also highly recomment you to others.
