Moxie the Morgan arrived on my doorstep yesterday afternoon, after much eager anticipation on my part and probably just as much nail-biting on his prior owner's part! You see, Moxie was just given to me by a wonderful lady who, due to health reasons, found herself unable to ride him anymore. Even caring for him properly had become very difficult. On top of everything else, Mox had been abused prior to being owned by her, from which he still has leftover emotional "baggage" and has to be handled in a careful way by an experienced horseperson. Heartbroken, she nevertheless kept her horse's best interest at heart and set about finding him the best new home possible. I am very honored that she chose me to be Moxie's new "mom!" At any rate, sending your horsie away to a new home several thousand miles away, sight unseen, on blind faith from just telephone conversations and photos of his new home-to-be has got to be the most nervewracking experience...not really sure how I would handle that myself if I had to! I know that when we were looking for a shipper to bring Moxie from MA to AL, we both had the same gut feeling after talking to Ben from GBF that we had hit the jackpot. He was so patient, kind and caring! He was happy to answer all of our questions in thorough detail, and we both felt really good about our decision to use him. Our instincts proved correct...Ben and his wife, Sharon, were such a joy to deal with from start to finish! They were wonderful about adjusting their schedule to accomodate my (very inflexible!) work schedule, and then they were great about keeping in touch en route after picking Moxie up. When Mox arrived here, he was bright and happy, not stressed at all, and the great care he had received was obvious! I finally got to meet Ben and Sharon after extensive phone conversations and they are just as delightful in person as I had envisioned them to be! I would, and plan to, use them again in the future for my horse transportation needs!
