was very happy to see my horses after knowing they had been on the road for 4 days, but they got off the trailer looked good, well hydrated with no stiffness. and i was very thankful for that the next morning i let my horses out into a corral and my horses were from kentucky and came to colorado,it never occured to us that the horse would climb a large 4 foot high drift in the corral and the corral was enclosed with corral panels we thought safe. horses in colorado are surrounded by snow all the time with no incudents well i quess one of the horses decided she was going to go for a walk and jumped up on the snow which held her for a short distance then she fell thru the snow and landed with one leg from the hock down thru the panel and she was in 4 foot high snow on the other side of the corral.
it took the police, road and bridge to get her out and she was shocky, pregnant, going to colic and luckily to make a long story short
if she had not been in such good shape getting off the trailer(hydrated etc) the vet feels she would not have survived as this accident happened just 12 hours after they got off the trailer so she is fine acting as if nothing had happened trotting all over so i have to thank slk transporting for a job well done thanks shaun and george
